Every year, the English Speaking Union organizes a conference in Oxford related to International Relations. This summer, the conference took place at Oriel College.
This conference which lasts about a week, with different seminars has something special that no word can describe. There were 27 participants from all over the world: Europe, Russia, Asia, Oceania and the US.
Although none of us had met before, it was really easy to get to know each other and exchange about our cultures.
Our week was very busy: during the day we had seminars with well-known presenters: the seminars dealt with the economy, politics, the UK, the European Union, law or with globalization. All of them were deeply interesting though my favourite one was about Oxfam. The evenings were busy was well with wonderful dinners with special guests.
We also spent a whole afternoon/evening in Stratford where we attended a play, Hamlet with Patrick Stewart - it was a wonderful evening.
This conference gave me the opportunity to meet people from all over the world, most of them have become friends. I learnt so much about politics and the economy that I wish the conference could have lasted more than a week. Our young and wonderful organizers did a great job!! I can only recomment future members to apply to this conference.
